Visiting New Here

Welcome Everyone

New to Culver City Church of God? We’re glad to have you visit!

We know that visiting a church for the first time can be stressful. We also know that you probably have a lot of questions for us before you visit. So, we have tried to answer a couple of the main questions that most people have before they join us for worship.

What will we do?

We begin our worship services with a time of music and worship. We believe in being a family church, so our worship ranges from  contemporary worship songs to some of the oldest hymns of our faith brought forth in an inspiring way.

We project all of the words on a screen for you or you have the opportunity to read from the bulletin or in the Hymnal.

We have a time of giving our tithes and offering. If you are visiting, we don’t want you to feel that you have to participate in this time. This is for those of us who call Culver City Church of God home to worship God through our gifts. But always feel free to give – as you bless us – God will bless you.

There will be a time of corporate and individual prayer as prayer is an important part of who we are at Culver City Church of God.

A message will be delivered by our Senior Pastor, a Staff Associate, or Guest Speaker. It is our goal that all of our messages are Bible-based and relevant to your life. Our entire service lasts about 75 minutes.

What should I wear?

We believe that God is much more concerned with your heart than your outward appearance. That being said, we want you to be comfortable. Most of our people wear business casual. However, we have people in their Sunday best and people wearing jeans. We want you to feel comfortable to come as you are.

How are visitors recognized?

The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Guest Information Card and simply drop it in the offering plate so that we can have a record of your visit. During our welcome time everyone greets those in service with greetings of handshakes, joy, maybe an introduction by name, and maybe even a quick hug. We want you to have a wonderful experience at Culver City Church of God, and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.

Where should my kids go?

We have a nursery/ Toddler room near the Sanctuary at any time parents can enter. We strive to make this area exceptionally clean and safe for your child.

We have teaching time we call "Kid Zone" for kids ages 4-11. They usually meet downstairs in our education/ fellowship area. These meet in the sanctuary worship time with parents/ gardians then all together mid-service go to "Kid Zone" downstairs for stories from the bible, games related to the days story, crafts and snacks.

Our goal is for your youngster to learn ways of following the teachings of Jesus found in the bible and have a blast doing it!

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes.  The Sanctuary can easily accommodate those needing seating for wheelchairs. Our facility was designed so that our guests may access the Sanctuary and down to our Sunday School classes and fellowship area with a chair lift located at the north door.
